How do I get started?

Join an Information Call

We regularly host Information calls so you can find out more about the Flow Game and what it takes to become a host. Come with your questions, and meet both the training team and your potential learning cohort.

Make your commitment

Begin by reading the Flow Game Host Compact, which outlines what it takes to become a host and how we practice conscious economy to meet you where you are. Then jump onto the Registration Form and let us know you're interested.

Step into a Learning Cohort

The training begins long before we meet. We start by playing a Flow Game together online with others who are part of your learning cohort. That means we've already begun to get to know and support each other to become good hosts of the Flow Game.

What happens during the training?

We play the game to learn how to host the game

An onsite Flow Game Host training lasts 3 days.

One of the best ways to get familiar with the Flow Game is to dive in. We start by playing our personal questions and learning about the values and practices that underpin hosting the Flow Game.

The Flow Game was created more than 25 years ago by eight friends and colleagues who came together regularly to inquire about entrepreneurship. The results of their inquiry became the Flow Game, which is now practiced all over the world and translated into many languges.

We learn how to host different groups

The Flow Game consists of four different card decks aimed at four different audiences. During our time together we play with the Personal deck, the Team deck and the Training deck, which is specifically aimed at helping us explore what it takes to invite, organise and host Flow Games.

Both the Personal and Team decks are included in the Flow Game kit, which participants receive at the training in their language of choice.

The fourth deck is focused on families. Hosts can purchase the Family deck separately.

We practice action learning

We encourage learning by doing. Very quickly, participants are encouraged to begin hosting each other in Flow Games.

Teaming up to host makes it easier and more fun. Hosting like this prepares us for what it feels like to host new people in our own games.

At the same time, it gives us experience as a learning cohort, so we can rely on each other when its time to step out and host on our own.

Learning cohorts have supported each other to be innovative and to take the game to new and unexpected places.

We host community games

Late on Day 2 of the training, participants receive their own Flow Game kit. And straight away they begin to prepare to host.

On the morning of the final day of the training participants host community members in playing a Flow Game. Sometimes other trained Flow Game hosts join us. Sometimes our participants are family and friends. And sometimes we host people who have never played before.

Being able to debrief this experience together and find out what we learned in real time builds experience and confidence.
