Questions are a key leadership tool

leadership people in practice power of questions Aug 02, 2025

In June I was in Sweden hosting another Art of Powerful Questions workshop for a client. This  work is like play for me -- I LOVE working with questions! They are not only a very practical leadership tool, but also a powerful opening to new possibilities and potential through seeing things in a new way.

This time, rather than create and play a team question, we worked on personal questions to take into the Flow Game. Some of them that surfaced were:

  • How do I continue to hold my consciousness on my impact on others?
  • In what spaces would it give me the most joy & meaning to contribute?
  • What does it take to nurture opportunity orientation?

But the one that still travels with me is this question, asked by a young manager:

If I am not the answer to someone's question, than who am I?

I could hear both the courage and the trembling in asking this question -- as so many of us are doing secretly right now. What is my purpose when life around me changes suddenly?

The Flow Game is an ideal place to bring the questions you've crafted and honed to receive Wisdom Council. And what a skill that is -- to not offer advice, but your deepest intuition in service of something that really matters to someone else.

This is the training I think every leader and every team deeply needs -- how to:

  • find and craft a powerful question
  • work with the challenges and opportunities serendipity (you might say LIFE) offers
  • be wisdom council for others and receive it with an open mind and heart for yourself

If you're relaxing over summer or deeply pondering what next? NOW is the time to let a powerful question simmer inside you!

Isn't it time to have a brilliant ally on your side?
